Meet the team

Bridget Girvan BVM&S MRCVS

Karen is a highly experienced ruminant industry veterinarian with a dairy background. Coming from a family farm, she has developed a deep understanding and knowledge of the intricacies of the farming industry.

Karen qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, London and spent the next eight years working in all aspects of practice in the UK, South Africa and New Zealand, with an emphasis on dairy.

In 2012 she moved into her first industry role as a ruminant vet advisor. She has since worked with various pharmaceutical companies as an employee and a consultant covering all farm animal species.

Alongside her work, Karen continues to farm a small flock of sheep in Dorset and is also a proud mother of two children. She also enjoys walking her dogs, baking and renovating houses.

Bridget is an extremely adept ruminant veterinary consultant. She also helps to run a large sheep and beef farm in the Scottish Borders therefore has extensive personal and professional experience in the various challenges faced by agriculture.

Bridget graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh. After working as a mixed practice vet for eight years, she diversified in 2014 and became an industry ruminant veterinary adviser across Scotland and Northern England. Her main interests lie in flock health and beef herd health.

Since 2022, Bridget has been dedicating more time to the family farm while also providing veterinary consultancy services.

Outside of her veterinary work, Bridget assists on the farm, attempts to herd her two children and enjoys walking, mountain biking, and skiing.
